Elderly Couple Injured in Fresno 2-Vehicle Accident at Cedar and Nees Avenues

Fresno, California (July 9, 2020) – An elderly couple, in their 70s, was injured following a traffic collision that took place at an intersection in Fresno Wednesday afternoon, a local news source reported.
The two-vehicle crash was reported in the afternoon hours at the intersection of Cedar and Nees avenues.
The accident happened when a vehicle driven by a teenage driver north on Cedar Avenue at high speed made an unsafe lane change. The teen then slammed into a tan Prius occupied by the couple in their 70s.

The couple was transported to Community Regional Medical Center for treatment.
The man sustained a broken hip and some internal injuries but was listed in stable condition. The woman was x-rayed with unspecified injuries.
The young driver, who was not injured, was cited by Fresno Police Department for a lane change violation. Neither drugs nor alcohol were suspected factors in the accident. An investigation into the crash is underway.
