Jesus Olivares Killed in El Rio Motorcycle Accident on Vineyard Avenue
El Rio, California (February 7, 2021) – 35-year-old Jesus Olivares, of Oxnard, died following a motorcycle accident that took place Saturday night in El Rio.
The fatal crash was reported shortly before 7:10 p.m., on Vineyard Avenue near the area of Montgomery Avenue and Carnegie Place.
The accident happened when a 2012 Toyota Camry made a U-turn across both northbound lanes while trying to reach the southbound side on February 6. A 2015 Harley-Davidson operated by Olivares north on Vineyard Avenue then struck the driver-side door of the Camry.
Due to the impact, Olivares was ejected from the bike while the Camry motorist was trapped inside the wreckage.
Jesus Olivares Fatal El Rio Motorcycle Collision
Olivares died at Ventura County Medical Center while undergoing treatment.
The driver, a 53-year-old Santa Paula man, sustained major injuries and was rushed to VCMC for further medication.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
