69-Year-Old Transient Man Dies in El Cajon Pedestrian Accident on State Route 67
El Cajon, California (June 19, 2019) – A 69-year-old transient man was hit and killed by a vehicle early Sunday morning in El Cajon, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The deadly accident happened at about 3:37 a.m. Sunday, June 9 on State Route 67, just north of the Interstate 8 interchange.
The CHP said the man was pushing a shopping cart on southbound SR 67 when he was struck by a Ford F-150 truck.

The man, who has not been identified pending notification of family, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver of the Ford stopped at the scene and cooperated with the investigators. Neither alcohol nor drugs were suspected to be factors in the crash.
The CHP is investigating the accident.
