El Cajon, California (June 19, 2021) An alleged hit-and-run collision that occurred Thursday afternoon in El Cajon resulted in injuries, the California Highway Patrol said.

The two-vehicle crash happened at about 1:45 p.m. on Interstate 8 at Mollison Avenue.

The accident involved a white sedan and a red sedan that crashed in the afternoon hours for unknown reasons.

As per the report, at least one person sustained unspecified injuries following the accident.

Officials said the driver who caused the collision fled the scene without rendering aid to the injured victims.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
