Edgar Gonzalez Killed and Maritza Nuno Injured in Car Accident on Oakdale-Waterford Highway in Modesto
Modesto, California (May 6, 2019) – The authorities have disclosed the identity of a Waterford man who was killed in a suspected DUI head-on collision in Modesto on Saturday night.
According to a local news source, the accident happened at about 9:50 p.m. May 4, on Oakdale-Waterford Highway near Ellenwood Road.
The authorities said 23-year-old Lauren Cathcart was driving a Ford Explorer northbound when she veered into the opposite lanes and collided head-on with a Nissan Versa driven by 20-year-old Edgar Gonzalez.

Gonzalez was killed in the accident.
His passenger, 20-year-old Maritza Nuno of Waterford was taken to Doctors Medical Center in Modesto for treatment of major injuries.
Cathcart was transported to Memorial Medical Center for treatment. She was later placed under arrest on suspicion of DUI.
No other information was provided.
An investigation to determine the cause of the accident is underway.
