East Los Angeles, California (October 24, 2020) – A pedestrian was hit and killed by a vehicle on Saturday morning in East Los Angeles, authorities said.

The deadly pedestrian accident transpired at about 2:10 a.m. on the northbound Long Beach (710) Freeway near Cesar Chavez Avenue.

A witness told the California Highway Patrol that the pedestrian had been lying on the roadway before they were struck by the vehicle.

Sadly the pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.

Traffic on the first and second lanes of the northbound Long Beach Freeway was stopped for an unknown period due to the accident.
