Eak Po Taing ID’d as Elderly Man Killed in El Cajon Pedestrian Accident on Jamacha Road near East Main Street

El Cajon, California (August 11, 2020) – The San Diego County Medical Examiners’s Office has identified the elderly pedestrian who died after being struck by a vehicle last week Wednesday in El Cajon as Eak Po Taing, 82, of El Cajon.
The deadly pedestrian accident happened at about 11:36 p.m.Wednesday, August 5, in the 110 block of Jamacha Road near East Main Street.
Authorities said Taing was walking on the sidewalk and was attempting to cross the street when a northbound pickup truck hit him.

Taing was transported by ambulance to Sharp Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The involved driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the authorities.
Drugs or alcohol were not believed to have played a role in the mishap.
