San Jose, California (December 17, 2019) – The Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office has identified the man who was struck and killed by a vehicle early Saturday morning at an intersection in San Jose as Douglas Scott Brown, 70.

The deadly pedestrian accident happened at about 2:30 a.m. Saturday, December 14 at the intersection of Parkmoor Avenue and Race Street.

Authorities said Brown was crossing the intersection outside of a marked crosswalk when he was struck by a Lexus that was heading southbound on Race Street.

Brown was transported by responding paramedics to a hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

The adult male driver of the Lexus stopped at the scene and cooperated with investigators. Authorities said neither alcohol nor drugs were factors in the crash.
