Hemet, California (August 11, 2020) – Donald Van Riper, 69, of Hemet, has been identified as the motorcyclist who was killed in a traffic collision on Sunday afternoon in a San Jacinto Mountains, Hemet, police said.
The crash happened at about 12:40 p.m., on August 9, on Highway 74, just west of mile marker 56.
Riper was riding his motorcycle on the eastbound side of the highway when, for unknown reasons, his bike collided with another motorcycle, the police said.

Riper was pronounced dead at the scene.
Two other patients were seriously injured and were airlifted to a trauma center for treatment.
Further details regarding the accident were not immediately available.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
