Desert Hot Springs, California (March 6, 2021) – A pedestrian was struck and critically injured by a vehicle Thursday evening in Desert Hot Springs, authorities said.
The major injury pedestrian accident happened at around 6:30 p.m. Thursday, March 4, on Sixth Street between Palm and Cactus drives.
The pedestrian, a 60-year-old Desert Hot Springs man, was hit by a westbound white truck while walking on Sixth Street.
Man Hospitalized After Being Struck by Vehicle in Desert Hot Springs
The man was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was listed in critical condition. His name was not immediately disclosed.
The driver of the involved vehicle, a 34-year-old Desert Hot Springs resident, fled the scene but later returned to the crash site.
Investigators said intoxication played a role on the part of the pedestrian.
