At Least One Injured in Desert Hot Springs Crash on Pierson Boulevard and Palm Drive
Desert Hot Springs, California (September 13, 2019) – At least one person was injured in a traffic collision involving a driver operating a stolen vehicle on Thursday evening in Desert Hot Springs.
The crash took place shortly after 12:25 p.m. September 12, in the area of Pierson Boulevard and Palm Drive.
According to police, authorities responded to a report of a stolen vehicle near Ocotillo Road and Estrella Avenue. When police located the suspect, the driver fled the scene, striking a police vehicle in the process.

The suspect then proceeded to travel northbound in the southbound lanes of Palm Drive and ended up colliding with an oncoming vehicle.
The suspect fled the scene but was later located and taken into custody. He was also taken to a hospital with moderate injuries.
The driver who was hit by the suspect was critically injured and was rushed to Desert Regional Medical Center.
The identities of the involved parties were not immediately released.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
