Modesto, California (May 2, 2021) – Deputy Stovall has been identified as one of the three parties who were injured in a multi-vehicle collision on Thursday night in Modesto, authorities said.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident on 7th Street near Crows Landing Road at about 11 p.m. on April 29.

38-year-old Richard Adams was riding a motorcycle on the roadway when he allegedly made a left turn into the path of a sheriff’s patrol car driven by Deputy Stovall.

Deputy Stovall Injured in Crash on 7th Street

Adams and his passenger, 49-year-old Cynthia Rematoza, were ejected from the motorcycle onto the roadway, leaving them with major injuries.

Stovall’s motorcycle was knocked into the next lane where a passing Honda struck it.

Deputy Stovall sustained minor injuries to his arms.

The Honda driver was unhurt.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
