Davis Hit-And-Run Pedestrian Accident on Olive Drive Kills 66-Year-Old Ernest Seyfert
Pedestrian Ernest Seyfert Struck and Killed by Hit-And-Run Driver on Olive Drive in Davis
Davis, California (January 5, 2021) – Davis police have identified 66-year-old Ernest Seyfert as the victim who died after being struck by an alleged hit-and-run driver Sunday night in Davis.
The deadly crash took place at about 8 p.m. on Olive Drive near Richards Boulevard.
A big rig driven by Scott Bryan Ekoniak hit Seyfert while walking on the highway under unclear circumstances.
Ekoniak, a Davis resident, did not stop and escaped the crash site.
Ernest Seyfert Fatal Davis Pedestrian Accident
Sadly, Seyfert died in the accident.
On Monday, Ekoniak and his vehicle were found in Sacramento, where he was arrested on suspicion of hit-and-run before being booked at the Yolo County Jail.
The accident remains under active investigation.
