2 Sustains Minor Injuries in Davis Car Crash on Interstate 80 near Mace Boulevard
Davis, California (January 4, 2021) – Two people were injured when two cars collided Sunday afternoon on Interstate 80 in Davis, the California Highway Patrol said.
The incident happened at about 12:25 p.m. in the eastbound lanes, just east of Mace Boulevard.
Davis Fire Department officials, who responded to the scene, said the two vehicles collided for unknown reasons, one of them ending up on its roof.
Two people sustained minor injuries in the crash, the firefighters said. Two ambulances were requested to the scene to offer medical aid to the victims.
A witness told authorities that one of the cars was street-racing with a white Mustang prior to the accident.
Firefighters blocked the No. 3 lane of the freeway following the crash.
Officers are investigating the incident.
