David Tzaput Tzep Killed in Encino Trench Collapse
David Tzaput Tzep ID’d as Worker Killed in Encino Construction Accident on N. Louise Avenue near Ventura Boulevard

Encino, California (July 7, 2019) – The Los Angeles County Coroner’s officials have identified David Tzaput Tzep, 23, of Montebello as the sewer repair worker who was killed after a trench collapsed during construction work on a home in Encino Wednesday evening.
The collapse was reported at about 6:25 a.m. Wednesday, July 3 at a property on 5055 N. Louise Avenue near Ventura Boulevard.
Authorities said Tzep descended into the trench to do work on an underground sewer line when the trench collapsed and buried him up to his chest. The trench was described as 10 to 20 feet deep.

Emergency crews responded to the scene and shore up the trench before recovering the Tzep’s body.
The cause of the collapse remains under investigation.
