Manteca, California (December 18, 2019) – The driver who was hospitalized with major injuries after a traffic collision that occurred on Monday afternoon in Manteca has succumbed to his injuries, according to a local news source.
The crash happened shortly after 12 p.m. December 16, on Highway 120 near Highway 99.
According to the report, a Chevrolet pickup truck, a Dodge utility and a big rig were involved in the crash. The driver of the big rig reportedly failed to observe the changes in traffic conditions and rear-ended the Dodge and Chevy.
Dave Lopez Killed in Mateca Car Accident
The driver of the pickup truck, identified as Dave Lopez, 53, was taken to a hospital with serious injuries and was later pronounced deceased.
There was no update on the conditions of the other drivers.
The crash caused a closure of part of Highway 120 as the scene was examined and cleared.
The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
