San Francisco, California (May 23, 2021) – Danny Ramos, 30, has been identified as the man who was injured in a fatal Tuesday evening crash involving a hit-and-run driver in San Francisco, authorities said.

The wreck happened at about 7:00 p.m., on May 18, in the area of Polk and Hayes streets.

Authorities said a dark blue Chevrolet Avalanche truck, driven by Lovisa Svallingson, 29, was traveling southbound on Polk Street when it failed to stop for the posted stop sign and collided with a white Audi sedan that was traveling west on Hayes Street.

The truck then struck Lovisa Svallingson, 29, of San Francisco, and Ramos, who were on foot.

Svallingson died at the scene of the accident. 

Ramos was taken to Zuckerberg-San Francisco General Hospital with critical injuries.

Two of the four occupants of the Audi were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.

Svallingson reportedly fled the scene after the accident. He was successfully arrested at the Judiciary Hall on Bryant Street at 1:00 p.m. on Friday.

The incident remains under investigation.
