Ventura County, California (February 1, 2021) – Daniella M. Martir, 19, of Valley Village, has been identified as the female driver who was killed in a single-vehicle accident on Monday morning in Malibu, Ventura County, according to the Ventura County CHP Office.

The deadly crash happened at about 1:37 a.m. on the Pacific Coast Highway near Sycamore Canyon Beach, near Thornhill Broome Beach and Leo Carillo State Beach Creek Road.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a 2019 Volkswagen Jetta, driven by Martir, veered off the Pacific Coast Highway and plunged into the ocean.

Sadly, Martir was declared dead at the scene.

Martir was traveling with her cat, who also died, the officials said.

It was not clear whether drugs, alcohol or speeding played a role in the accident.

No further details about the crash were immediately provided.
