Daniel Velasquez ID’d as Man Killed in Bakersfield Pedestrian Accident on Calloway Drive near Rosedale Highway
Bakersfield, California (September 16, 2020) – Daniel Santos Velasquez, 40, has been identified as the pedestrian who died after being struck by a vehicle early this month in northwest Bakersfield, according to the Kern County Coroner’s Office.
The deadly pedestrian accident happened at around 9:39 p.m. Thursday, September 3, in the 2700 block of Calloway Drive near Rosedale Highway.
Authorities said Velasquez was hit by a southbound vehicle while walking outside of a marked crosswalk on Calloway Drive.

Velasquez was declared dead at the scene.
The driver of the involved vehicle stopped after the wreck and cooperated with the law.
Investigators said neither drugs nor alcohol were suspected factors in the accident.
An investigation into the crash is underway.
