Daniel Carlos LomberaFarias Arrested after Redwood City Car Accident on U.S. Highway 101 near Seaport Boulevard
Redwood City, California (July 3, 2019) – Daniel Carlos LomberaFarias, 19, has been arrested after leading the authorities on a chase that ended in a traffic accident in Redwood City Tuesday morning, according to a local news source.
At around 11:41 a.m. Tuesday, July 2, the officers began pursuing LomberaFarias for possibly driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs on northbound U.S. Highway 101 north of Oregon Expressway.
According to the authorities, LomberaFarias tried to evade the officers and take the Seaport Boulevard off-ramp, but he made a U-turn and traveled on the wrong way lane.
LomberaFarias then slammed into a pole in the center median before collided head-on with a Toyota Prius. He was detained at gunpoint and booked into custody without incident.
LomberaFarias sustained moderate injuries and was taken to Stanford Hospital. The driver of the Prius was also taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
According to the CHP, LomberaFarias will be booked on suspicion of driving under the influence causing injury once he is released from the hospital.
The crash remains under investigation.
