Daniel Hernandez ID’d as Gustine Man Killed in Keyes Accident on Washington Road near Taylor Road

Keyes, California (April 14, 2021) – Daniel Hernandez, 50, of Gustine, has been identified as the man who was killed in a Monday afternoon ATV accident south of Keyes, according to the Stanislaus County Coroner’s Office.
The California Highway Patrol said the deadly accident happened at about 1:47 p.m. Monday, April 12, on southbound Washington Road, just north of Taylor Road.
According to the CHP, Hernandez was driving a Kubota southbound on Washington Road when, for unknown reasons, it was rear-ended by a Dodge pickup driven by 30-year-old Eric Mays of Turlock.
Sadly, Hernandez was pronounced dead at the scene.
Mays sustained minor injuries in the accident.
Authorities said neither alcohol nor drugs were a factor in the accident.
The crash remains under investigation.
