Bakersfield, California (March 17, 2019) – The motorcyclist who died after a crash involving a vehicle on Thursday morning in Bakersfield has been identified as Damon Hill, 41, according to a local news source.

The wreck happened at about 10:30 a.m. March 14, on 17th and Union Avenue.

Police said a Dodge Avenger made a U-turn in front of the Hill, causing him to strike the back of the car with his motorcycle.

The impact ejected Hill and threw him onto the air before landing on the roadway.

Damon Hill Dies in Bakersfield Motorcycle Accident

The paramedics transported Hill to a hospital with major injuries and he was pronounced dead at 3:54 a.m. Friday, March 15.

The driver of the Dodge remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigators.

Police said alcohol and drugs were unlikely factors in the crash.

The Bakersfield police are investigating the incident.
