Daisy Ojeda ID’d as Woman Injured in Fatal Modesto Pedestrian Crash on Highway 99 near Kiernan Avenue

Modesto, California (April 4, 2021) – Daisy Ojeda, 23, Modesto, has been identified as the woman who was injured in a Saturday morning traffic accident that killed a 59-year-old Grover Beach man in Modesto, authorities said.
The accident happened at about 2:25 a.m., on April 3, on southbound Highway 99, north of Kiernan Avenue.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the Grover Beach Man was struck by a southbound 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by Ojeda, in unclear circumstances.
After being struck by the Jeep, the pedestrian, who remained in the traffic lane, was then hit by a 2021 Freightliner and a 2006 Toyota, the officials said.

Sadly, the Grover Beach Man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Ojeda sustained minor injuries and was hospitalized for treatment.
The drivers of the Freightliner, Juel Alston, 59, of Stockton, and the Toyota, Richard Woodward, 47, of Modesto, were not hurt.
The crash remains under investigation.
