Customer Seriously Injured after Spring Valley Car Accident on Jamacha Boulevard

Spring Valley, California (April 7, 2020) – Authorities are investigating a deadly crash that claimed one life and severely injured another on Tuesday morning in La Presa community, Spring Valley.
According to the CHP officials, the fatal crash happened in the 9500 block of Jamacha Boulevard a while after 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 7.
Authorities said a postal truck was driving east when it veered north across traffic lane before jumping a curb. The mail truck then crashed into a Jeep that was parked outside the España Liquor store. Finally, the truck crashed into the store and it became lodged into the front of the building near the front counter.

The truck operator, a 50-year-old man described as a postal worker, was rescued by the San Miguel Fire & Rescue officials who had responded to the crash site. He was taken to Sharp Grossmont Hospital in La Mesa where he succumbed to his injuries.
Officials confirmed that the male driver suffered from a medical issue before the crash.
A customer of the store was hospitalized at Sharp Memorial Hospital in San Diego with a moderate leg injury.
The names of the involved parties were not immediately provided.
The commercial building was extensively damaged following the accident.
The incident remains under investigation.
