Cruz Carrasco ID’d as Man Killed in Riverside Crash on Tyler Street and California Avenue

Riverside, California (July 12, 2021) – The Riverside County Sheriff-Coroner’s Bureau has identified the man who died early Monday morning following a head-on crash in Riverside as Cruz Carrasco, 52, of Anaheim.
The deadly collision happened at around 1:13 a.m. at the intersection of Tyler Street and California Avenue.
According to the authorities, a 2004 Lexus was heading northbound on Tyler Street when the driver lost control and drifted across the center divider.
The Lexus then collided head-on with a 2011 Nissan Sentra.

Carrasco, who was the driver of the Sentra, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The 28-year-old driver of the Lexus sustained major injuries and was transported to a local hospital.
Police closed Tyler Street in both directions during the investigation and cleanup. It is undetermined whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.
The Riverside Police Department is investigating the accident.
