Cressey, CA: Major Injuries Sustained after Vehicle Hit by Train at Santa Fe Dr and Cressey Way

Cressey, California (March 19, 2021) – At least one person was severely hurt when a vehicle was hit by a train Thursday night at an intersection in Cressey, the California Highway Patrol reported.

The incident was reported at about 8:32 p.m. on the tracks at Santa Fe Drive and Cressey Way.

As per authorities, a party reporting the incident said an SUV was stuck on the tracks when it was hit by a BNSF train.

The vehicle had at least one occupant at the time of the crash. It was not clear why the car was stuck on the tracks at the time of the report.

Firefighters, paramedics, and a BNSF agent responded to the crash scene.

The report said at least one person suffered major injuries in the accident.

There was no extra information given about the incident.

An investigation to establish what transpired leading to the crash is ongoing.
