Courtney Wismer Among 11 Hurt in Burney Traffic Accident on Highway 299

Burney, California (May 1, 2019) – One of the eleven persons hurt when a truck carrying members of the U.S. Forest Service Hot Crew was involved in a collision on Tuesday evening in Burney has been identified as Courtney Wismer, 29, according a local news source.
The collision happened around 5:12 p.m. April 30, on Highway 299 near Fir Street.
According to a CHP report, a woman was driving a 1996 Lexus when she veered into the path of oncoming traffic and collided head-on with the Forest Service vehicle, a 2008 International. The truck overturned into the embankment due to the impact.
Courtney Wismer Hospitalized after Burney Traffic Collision
The driver of the Lexus and one passenger in the service truck were taken to Mercy Medical Center in Redding with major injuries. Another passenger in the service truck who suffered major injuries was taken to Shasta Regional Medical Center in Redding.
Wismer and seven other service crew were taken to local hospitals with minor injuries.
The crash is under investigation.
