Costa Mesa, California (October 24, 2019) – 11-year-old girl was transported to a hospital after a car plowed into her bedroom in Costa Mesa late on Friday night, according to the Costa Mesa Fire and Rescue Department.
Authorities said the crash happened in the 1900 block of Meyer Place near Westside neighborhood at about 11:50 p.m.
As per the report, an Audi sports car driven by 27-year-old Ruben Ochoa of Costa Mesa, plowed into the kid’s bedroom, knocking her out of bed and trapping her down. The initial report indicated that the car rolled over the front lawn before slamming into the house.
Sports Car Plowed into 11-Year-Old’s Bedroom in Costa Mesa
Firefighters arrived shortly after the wreck and cut away part of the house before using large airbags and the Jaws of Life rescue tool to lift the vehicle and extricated the girl.
The kid was transported to a hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
Officials affirmed that no one else was hurt following the collision but the house was destroyed.
Ochoa was arrested on Saturday by Costa Mesa police on suspicion of felony driving under the influence.
The investigation is underway.
