Motorcyclist Jason Casey Killed in Delhi Traffic Crash Near North Avenue and Cortez Avenue
Delhi, California (April 21, 2021) – The Merced County Sheriff Coroner’s Office has identified the 42-year-old Delhi man who died following a motorcycle collision in Delhi Monday afternoon as Jason Casey.
The deadly crash took place near North Avenue and Cortez Avenue at approximately 4:15 p.m. on April 19.
The accident began when a 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe towing a trailer, operated by a male party south on Cortez, attempted to make a left turn onto the highway’s northbound side. A 2008 Honda CBR1000 ridden by Casey north on Cortez Avenue approaching North Avenue then crashed with the passenger side of the Chevrolet.
Jason was ejected from the motorcycle and landed between the Chevrolet and the trailer upon the impact.
The California Highway Patrol said the motorcycle and the Tahoe caught fire after the collision.
Delhi Motorcycle Crash Kills Jason Casey
Sadly, Casey died in the accident.
The Tahoe operator, who cooperated with the law enforcers, survived with minor injuries.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
