2-Year-Old Girl Hospitalized after Corning Pedestrian Crash on Marin Street

Corning, California (August 12, 2020) – A 2-year-old girl was hit and injured by a vehicle on Monday morning in Corning, authorities said.
The crash happened at about 10:30 a.m., on August 11, in the 1400 block of Marin Street.
According to the police, the toddler ran into the street and was hit by a white Chevrolet pickup, driven by Maria Martinez, 64, of Corning.
The Chevrolet was reportedly traveling westbound on Marin Street at the time.

The 2-year-old girl sustained cuts, bruising, abrasions, and other possible injuries. She was flown to Enloe Medical Center in Chico for treatment.
Alcohol, drugs, or speed did not play a role in the crash, the police said.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
