Orcutt, California (July 6, 2021) – A pedestrian was seriously injured after being hit by a vehicle Sunday evening in Orcutt, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The major injury collision happened at about 9:25 p.m. Sunday, July 4, in the 4100 block of South Bradley Road, just south of Parkland Drive.

The CHP said Nathan Fish 19, of Santa Maria, was driving a 1995 Ford F-150 truck northbound on South Bradley Road in the left-hand lane while Cooper Wood, 19, of Santa Maria, was standing on the right shoulder of the road.

For an unknown reason, Wood ran directly into the path of the truck and was struck.

Major Injury Pedestrian Collision in Orcutt

Wood sustained major injuries and was airlifted to Cottage Hospital in Santa Barbara. His current condition is unknown.

The driver of the pickup truck remained at the scene of the accident.

Alcohol or drugs were not considered a factor in the crash.
