1 Hospitalized after Contra Costa Motorcycle Accident on 80 Freeway and Central Avenue
Contra Costa County, California (February 7, 2019) – One person was hospitalized after a motorcycle collision Thursday morning in Contra Costa County, according to a California Highway Patrol report.
The collision happened at around 5:42 a.m. Thursday, on westbound 80 Freeway, just east of Central Avenue off-ramp.
As per the report, three vehicles including a motorcycle crashed for unknown reasons. The impact sent the motorcyclist and his motorcycle down in the lanes.
An ambulance was sent to the scene to attend to the injured parties. One person was transported to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek for treatment of severe injuries.
The motorcycle was moved to the right-hand shoulder and the roadway cleared as of 6:24 a.m.
Tow trucks were requested to remove the vehicles from the crash site.
No additional information concerning this incident was provided.
An investigation is underway.
