Contra Costa, California (August 5, 2019) – One person was hospitalized after a multi-vehicle collision early Monday morning in Contra Costa, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The crash happened at around 1:15 a.m. Monday, on eastbound Highway 4, just east of Hillcrest Avenue.

As per the CHP officials, three vehicles crashed for reasons still under investigation.

An ambulance was sent to the scene to attend to the injured parties. Four persons were possibly transported to John Muir, Walnut Creek Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries. The names of the victims and their current condition were not immediately released.

Tow trucks were requested to remove the vehicles from the crash site.

Debris was scattered in the roadway following the crash.
