Redding, California (July 19, 2020) – 41-year-old Consuelo Gonzales, of Red Bluff, has been identified as the pedestrian who was struck and injured by a vehicle Tuesday morning in Redding, a local news source reported.

The pedestrian accident was reported at about 6:58 a.m. in the parking lot of St. Elizabeth Community Hospital’s Outpatient Imaging Center.

Gonzales was struck by an eastbound vehicle driven by 59-year-old James Obrien while walking in the parking lot on July 14.

Consuelo Gonzales Hurt in Redding Pedestrian Crash

Gonzales sustained unspecified injuries and was rushed to St. Elizabeth before being airlifted to Mercy Medical Center in Redding. Officials said she was listed in stable condition

Obrien, a Redding resident, remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. He told the detectives that he did not see Gonzales due to the glare of the sun at the time.

The investigators are gathering more evidence to determine the cause of the accident.
