Concord, California (June 28, 2021) – A motorcyclist was hospitalized Sunday afternoon after being involved in a traffic collision in Concord, the California Highway Patrol reported.

The incident occurred at around 2:06 p.m. on northbound Interstate 680, near Willow Pass Road off-ramp.

Contra Costa County firefighters and paramedics responded to the scene to find a motorcycle that collided with a car for unknown reasons.

The motorcyclist was taken to John Muir Health Walnut Creek Medical Center for treatment of major injuries.

Authorities are collecting more information to establish the cause of the collision.
