Concord, California (June 15, 2019) – A motorcyclist is nursing injuries after colliding with a car Saturday morning on a highway in Concord, the California Highway Patrol reported.

According to the report, the Highway 242 accident took place at about 9:26 a.m. on the southbound lanes, just north of 680 Freeway.

Officials said the rider collided with a car for unknown reasons.

First responders found the motorcyclist down in the center divider.

The victim sustained major injuries in the crash. Paramedics responded to the scene to transport the patient to the hospital.

The motorcycle was towed away from the collision scene.

CHP is investigating the incident.
