Concord, CA: 2 Hospitalized after Car Crash on Highway 4 near Port Chicago Highway On-Ramp

Concord, California (July 11, 2021) – Two people were sent to the hospital after a two-vehicle collision that took place Saturday evening in Concord, the California Highway Patrol said.

The incident was reported at around 6:11 p.m. on eastbound Highway 4, near Port Chicago Highway on-ramp.

A Toyota Solaris and a Honda sedan were involved in the accident.

Reportedly, one of the cars was, for unknown reasons, passing on the left-hand shoulder when the driver lost control in the dirt and hit the other vehicle, then struck the guardrail.

Paramedics responded to the scene to find two people with injuries. One of the patients was taken to Kaiser Permanente Antioch Medical Center with moderate injuries and the other to John Muir Health, Walnut Creek Medical Center with minor injuries.

Authorities are investigating to establish the cause of the collision.
