Riverside, California (March 1, 2021) – A 26-year-old woman from Colton was hit and killed by a vehicle on Sunday morning in Riverside, authorities said.

The deadly accident happened at about 7:27 a.m., on February 28, on southbound 215 Freeway off-ramp at Van Buren Boulevard near March Air Reserve Base and Moreno Valley.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a 2004 Infinity Q35 was headed southbound on Van Buren Boulevard off-ramp as it approached the top of the off-ramp.

The vehicle did not attempt to slow down for the right-hand turn. Unfortunately, it struck a traffic signal pole. The female driver was allegedly not wearing a seatbelt at the time.

Sadly, the woman sustained fatal injuries in the accident.

Alcohol and or drugs have not been ruled out as a factor.
