At Least 1 Killed in Colton Car Collision on 10 Freeway near Mount Vernon Avenue
Colton, California (September 3, 2019) – The California Highway Patrol reported that at least one person died in a car collision that took place Monday morning in Colton.
The accident happened at about 7:35 a.m. on westbound 10 Freeway at Mount Vernon Avenue.
CHP officers said two vehicles collided and one of them overturned in the Nos. 3 and 4 lanes.
At least one person who sustained major injuries in the crash succumbed to their injuries. The identity of the victim remains withheld.

The lanes Nos. 3 and 4 and the Mount Vernon Avenue on-ramp to westbound 10 Freeway were temporarily closed as the car was being uprighted and investigators worked the scene.
The crash is under an active investigation.
