Coalinga, CA: Fatal Fiery Crash on Highway 145
1 Killed, Woman Injured in Coalinga Crash on Highway 145 near Interstate 5
Coalinga, California (February 24, 2021) – At least one person was killed in a Tuesday evening head-on collision that left a woman injured in Coalinga, authorities said.
The deadly accident occurred at about 5:40 p.m., on February 23, on Highway 145, east of Interstate 5.
According to the California Highway Patrol, an SUV was headed southbound on the highway when it crossed over to the northbound lane and collided head-on with a pickup truck.
Following the collision, the pickup truck overturned and caught fire, the officials said.
At least one person in the pickup truck was killed in the accident.
The woman, who was driving the SUV, sustained moderate injuries and was transported to the Community Regional Medical Center for treatment.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
