Clovis, CA: Bicyclist Hit, Killed by Vehicle on McKinley Avenue
Bicyclist Dies in Clovis Crash on McKinley Avenue near Temperance Avenue Tuesday morning
Clovis, California (August 13, 2019) – A bicyclist was struck and killed by a vehicle Tuesday morning in Clovis, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The deadly accident happened just before 8:00 a.m. on McKinley Avenue, just east of Temperance Avenue.
According to the CHP, a 17-year-old Clovis East student was driving a Toyota Sienna on McKinley Avenue when for an unknown reason, their vehicle veered onto the right shoulder and clipped from behind the bicyclist who was riding westbound on McKinley.
The bicyclist was ejected from the bike upon the impact.

The bicyclist was transported to a hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. His name has not been disclosed pending notification of family.
The Sienna was carrying four other minors.
It’s undetermined if drugs or alcohol were a factor in the collision.
The crash remains under investigation.
