Hollywood, California (October 9, 2020) – Clayton Chiapuzio, 33, of Newbury Park in Ventura County, has been identified as the victim who was seriously injured in a Thursday morning head-on crash that killed one other person in Hollywood, authorities said.

The fatal wrong-way crash transpired at around 1:00 a.m., on October 8, on Highway 101, just north of the Hollywood Boulevard off-ramp.

According to the CHP, a black 2008 BMW, driven by Jordan Del Carmen, 24, of Paramount, was traveling southbound in the northbound lanes of Highway 101 when it collided head-on with a 2014 Subaru operated by Chiapuzio.

That impact reportedly caused a chain-reaction crash, which involved two other vehicles.

Del Carmen was declared dead at the scene.

Chiapuzio sustained major injuries and was transported to a hospital. 

The other two drivers were not injured.

Traffic on the northbound lanes of the highway was stopped for a short period due to the accident.

Further details regarding the collision were not immediately available.
