1 Killed, 2 Seriously Hurt in Claremont Multi-Vehicle Accident on 10 Freeway

Claremont, California (March 25, 2019) – A 22-year-old man died while two other people were seriously injured in a traffic collision that involved at least 15 vehicles in Claremont Sunday morning.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the multi-vehicle collision was reported just before 1:55 a.m. March 24, on the San Bernardino (10) Freeway.

The fatal accident happened when a Toyota Camry that was momentarily stopped due to traffic in a temporary construction zone, was struck by a 2017 Dodge Charger driven by a 30-year-old driver in the carpool lane at a high rate of speed.

Due to the impact, the Toyota was pushed forward and it slammed into a Honda Civic that was stopped in the number two lane. As per the reports, the driver of the Dodge struck a 2006 BMW 550i as the vehicle continued traveling in a westerly direction. A 2007 Mercedes-Benz SL 55 which was stopped in the number one lane was struck by the BMW.

As many as 15 vehicles were involved in the pile-up.

The driver of the 2018 Camry, identified as a 22-year-old man from Tolleson, Arizona, was pronounced dead at the scene. The motorist who allegedly caused the collision sustained minor injuries following the crash. No further details were released concerning the condition of the other involved parties.

The authorities are currently collecting information and evidence to come up with a conclusive report about the accident.
