69-Year-Old Woman Critically Hurt in City Heights Pedestrian Accident on University Avenue
San Diego, California (May 22, 2019) – A female party was critically hurt in a pedestrian crash in City Heights Tuesday morning, according to a local news source.
The multi-vehicle crash was reported at about 10:00 a.m. May 21, along University Avenue.
The accident happened when a vehicle struck the 69-year-old woman who was crossing the roadway for reasons still under an active investigation.
The elderly woman was found lying on the roadway by the paramedics along with the Fire department officials who arrived at the scene shortly after the crash. The victim was hospitalized for treatment of severe injuries following the collision. The woman was reported to have suffered a broken pelvis, and a brain bleed. The current condition and identity of the patient have not yet revealed to this time.
The police confirmed that the driver of the involved vehicle identified as 18-year-old woman stopped after the crash and cooperated with the authorities.
The detectives handling the case are still investigating to identify why the crash occurred.
