49-Year-Old Citrus Heights Man Killed in Lincoln Motorcycle Accident at Sierra College Boulevard near Lower Ranch Road

Placer County, California (April 30, 2021) – A 49-year-old Citrus Heights man was killed in a motorcycle accident on Thursday morning in Lincoln, authorities said.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened at about 10:00 a.m. on Sierra College Boulevard near Lower Ranch Road.
The CHP said a 2010 Freightliner big-rig with a three-axle trailer, driven by Matthew Comach, 56, of Sacramento, was headed southbound on Sierra College and was slowing down to turn left onto Lower Ranch. Vehicles behind it were beginning to stop.
A 2004 Harley Davidson Sportster, operated by the Citrus Heights man, was headed in the same direction on Sierra College. The rider swerved into the oncoming traffic lane at a high rate of speed, passing the stopped vehicles in front and trying to pass the turning big-rig, the officials said.
Unfortunately, the 49-year-old Citrus Heights man reportedly crashed into the back of the big rig.

Sadly, the rider who was ejected from the motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene.
Comach was not injured in the accident.
It was not clear if drugs or alcohol played a role in the accident.
Both directions of Sierra College Boulevard were temporarily closed as the authorities examined the scene.
The CHP is investigating the cause of the accident.
