9-Year-Old Girl Killed in Citrus Heights Electrocution Accident near Interstate 80 and Antelope Road

Citrus Heights, California (July 16, 2019) – A child was fatally electrocuted at a pool in a Citrus Heights neighborhood on Sunday afternoon, according to the Citrus Heights Police Department.
The incident took place in the area of Interstate 80 and Antelope Road on Sunday, July 14.
Police said a 9-year-old girl was in the pool when a light that was being repaired electrocuted her.

The Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District crews responded to the incident and attempted life-saving measures on the girl.
The victim was rushed to a hospital, where she was sadly pronounced deceased.
No other injuries were reported from the incident.
Police said the incident is under investigation.
