Chula Vista, California (August 19, 2020) – A traffic collision involving two vehicles in Chula Vista early Monday morning, injured several people.
The DUI rollover collision occurred on the northbound side of the Interstate 805 Freeway near H Street just after 2:30 a.m. August 17.
One of the involved cars, with four occupants, overturned around 100 feet down the interstate after the two vehicles collided in the morning hours.
Officials said all the victims managed to get out of the rolled car and received first aid treatment from a tow truck driver who was not involved in the crash.
Due to the impact, the second car acquired minor damage, but none of its passengers was injured.
Medical personnel rushed one of the four patients to a local hospital for treatment of major injuries.
Meanwhile, police arrested one of the involved motorists who was driving under the influence of drugs at the time of the collision.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
