Driver Injured in Reedley Fatal DUI Head-On Crash on Adams Avenue ID’d as Christina Yashimoto

Reedley, California (November 27, 2019) – 28-year-old Christina Yashimoto of Sanger has been identified as one of the victims injured in a fatal DUI head-on collision in Reedley Tuesday evening, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The fatal crash was reported at around 5:14 p.m. November 26, on East Adams Avenue near South Alta Avenue.
The CHP said a Volkswagen Jetta driven by 61-year-old Manuel Ramirez Jr. eastbound on Adams crossed into the westbound lane and collided head-on with a Jeep Cherokee driven by Yashimoto.

Officials said three children, ages 2, 3, and 4 riding as passengers in the Jetta sustained major injuries in the crash. Yashimoto suffered a minor following the wreck. All four victims were rushed to the hospital for treatment.
Another 30-year-old woman in Ramirez’s car was pronounced dead at the scene.
Ramirez was transported to Community Regional Medical Center for treatment of major injuries.
Officials affirmed Ramirez was under the influence of alcohol or drugs at the time of the accident.
Police arrested Ramirez for felony DUI and felony gross vehicular manslaughter and child endangerment charges.
Meanwhile, the investigation is still ongoing.
