Whitewater, California (February 8, 2021) – A California Highway Patrol motorcycle officer was injured Saturday afternoon in a traffic accident in Whitewater, according to a local news source.
At around 1:37 p.m. Saturday, February 6, the CHP officials received a report about the accident on Interstate 10 near State Route 62.
According to the CHP, the 31-year-old San Bernardino Officer was riding his motorcycle when, for unknown reasons, he was sideswiped by a car in the westbound lane of Interstate 10.
The officer was thrown off his bike upon the impact.
Major Injury Traffic Collision on Interstate 10 in Whitewater
The CHP officer sustained possible major injuries and was taken to a local hospital for treatment. His name and condition were not immediately disclosed.
The involved driver was not injured and stopped at the scene after the crash. Authorities said neither alcohol nor drugs were suspected factors in the accident.
