Redding, California (September 30, 2020) – A California Highway Patrol officer and a civilian were injured Wednesday morning in a traffic accident in Downtown Redding, according to a local news source.

The wreck occurred shortly after 9:00 a.m. at the intersection of Shasta and North Market Streets.

As per the CHP, a driver failed to stop for a stop sign and slammed into a California Highway Patrol car.

Minor Injury Traffic Collision in Redding

The driver and the CHP officer sustained minor injuries as a result of the crash. Their names and conditions were not immediately disclosed.

The crash caused a traffic backup in the westbound lane of Highway 44.

The crash remains under investigation.
